Business Relationship Manager - Virtual Desktop (d/f/m)

We at Airbus Commercial in Hamburg are looking for you as Business Relationship Manager - Virtual Desktop (d/f/m) to join our international team.
The goal of Digital Workplace (DW) is to make a significant and positive impact on the way Airbus employees work, collaborate and share information as well as providing a foundational step for the digital transformation of Airbus. This is achieved through the deployment and support of new tools and technologies enabling better cross functional collaboration, improved productivity, greater company integration, and improved transparency and more open and horizontal information exchange. A critical element required to achieve success for DW is a clearly defined strategy supported by effective transformation plan and operational controls.
In our Product and Service Line (PSL) “Devices & Services”, we work in a Multi-Functional Team (MFT) and enable employees with the provision of modern ‘endpoint’ services and an ability to access Airbus business applications and solutions wherever they are working. Our activities include configuration, management and provision of laptops, desktops, OS, patching, security, accessories, Virtual Desktops Infrastructure (VDI), VDI on cloud & application virtualization.
VDI is a key component of Digital Workplace allowing Airbus to access complex applications with standard computers and ensuring easy access to Airbus applications for suppliers around the world.
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.
Your location
You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

Your tasks and responsibilities
- You will follow operational activities on virtual computers private and public cloud solutions (Virtual Desktops, Remote Applications)
- You will connect between the different VDI teams and stakeholders to translate the business need into IT services and products.
- You will act as VDI Business Relationship Manager supporting onboarding of new activities and operations in front of the Extended Enterprise team, internal and external customers and technical stakeholders
- You will guide the business to select the most relevant virtual solution according to the needs and the solution catalogue
- You will define, maintain and improve the new operating model, focus on efficiency and availability of the product environment
- You will contribute to project activities to evolve the virtualization product portfolio
- You will set up continuous improvement and automation process taking care of business continuity and user experience
Desired skills and qualifications
- You hold a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a comparable qualification and bring several years of work experience in Service Management, process automation & IT project management (Agile Scrum, SAFe).
- You have good knowledge in IT operations (ITIL knowledge) with a user centric or business approach and bring a background in IT infrastructure.
- You bring strong communication skills that enable you to drive change and communicate effectively with different stakeholders.
- You like collaborative and team spirit work, innovative, with a good sense of curiosity and desire to learn for yourself and others.
- You feel like driving continuous improvement and synergies between physical and virtual computer products and contributing to increasing reliability, stability and performance of the Airbus virtual environments.
- You are fluent in English. French or German are a plus.
- Ideally, you bring knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Virtualization technologies, virtual desktops and remote applications
- Windows desktop/ Server
- AWS (Appstream 2.0, VMware Cloud …)
- Network and IT security
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VMware Horizon, Vsphere..)
Business Travels
This role will involve some travels for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly throughout Europe. Current estimation is every second month.
