The positions are hosted in the Cargo & Safety Engineering perimeter located in Bremen. Cargo & Safety in commercial aircraft is of utmost strategic importance for the airlines. This part is crucial for aircraft and passenger safety as well as for cargo operations.

Consequently Airbus has launched several strategic development projects in this area for the upcoming 5 to 7 years.

In a world a complete transformation with a lot of very attractive projects, we are currently looking for a Cargo Architect (m/f/d) or comparable to join the Cargo & Safety Subdomain to drive & steer the development and the integration of our future products implementing new technologies, developing new services considering digitalisation, automation & sustainability.

You will bring your wide level of experience and knowledge into the assigned product developments and challenge the validation of requirements and design solutions, analysis and trade-offs at the Cargo component level. In this role you will be asked to work with other architects and experts to bring the best solutions for the component technical definition and development process.

Your main tasks and accountabilities:

As a Cargo Architect, you will participate in the definition and validation of the Component design as well as its integration at aircraft level, and associated

technology readiness that will meet all program technical requirements and ensure robust launch of new AIRBUS Programs and projects.

You shall be called upon to:

  • Lead or participate in technical studies and propose and validate Component Architectural solutions to meet Top Level Requirements cascaded at Component level
  • Lead or participate in Technical or Design Reviews to ensure the rigorous application of engineering quality gates
  • Advise on Component major developments and resolution of major in-service problems all along life cycle by assessing technical solutions at Component level
  • Act as a mentor or a coach to engineers developing their competences
  • Use your knowledge and experience to provide an independent view to request support within Engineering Centers so as to contribute to the architecture and design studies upon agreement from the involved management request from and agree with your operational manager the dispositions needed to allow the proper fulfillment of your missions

Requirements for this position:

  • Education Degree up to 5 Years in Information Systems & Technology, Digital Transformation & Sustainability, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable
  • At least 5 Years experience within systems engineering of hardware development, overlapping ATA experienced
  • Bride experience & knowledge level across the product development phases from early definition phase in R+D until MG5 to secure customer platform implementation.
  • Self-organized and empowered working, team player, open-minded and curious, excellent communication & presentation skills.
  • Take ownership & responsibility of assigned projects & product developments.
  • Strong interest in continuously learning & driving new technologies & products from scratch until it’s implementation.
  • Very good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in English and German
