Your new Team:
We are the Internet of Things, Platforms and Digital Solutions team, part of the Cabin & Cargo Engineering, located in Hamburg and Bremen and with close links to other Airbus locations like China, Singapore and Toulouse.
We are an innovative, international and “start-up” like multiskilled team with Software Architects, System Engineers, Business Developers, Project Managers, Experts, etc. Our mission is to innovate, prototype and demonstrate new technologies and business concepts around onboard connectivity.
The Open Software Platform:
Airbus is developing an open connected ecosystem in-and-around the aircraft called Airspace Link. At its core is the Open Software Platform (OSP) that can host multiple onboard solutions, like IFE (In-flight Entertainment). Thanks to the deployment of IoT in the aircraft, new smart devices (e.g. smart seats, connected galleys) will connect to the OSP and the apps hosted on it (developed by Airbus, customers or third parties) will provide solutions to Airlines and Passengers.

Your new Job:
You will join the ongoing OSP Agile Release Train with the role of Product Manager, Product Owner or Release Train Engineer, depending on your profile and the project status. In addition to the OSP, you will also lead other SW developments going on in the team with internal and external developers. These SW solutions address different fields like passenger experience, cabin operations optimization, cabin predictive maintenance, cargo tracking and sustainability.
Concrete responsibilities:

Influence and execute on the roadmap for the SW products.

Ensure successful on-time product delivery.

Manage specificities of interface requirements between SW products and HW ones.

Contribute to building the vision for the SW products in alignment with internal stakeholders.

Manage and ensure financial efficiency of externalized SW developments.

Engage with SW development teams from customers and partners to support their adoption and onboarding.

Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to other team members on SW development.
You can expect a highly visible and transverse role in close cooperation with the Connectivity Design Office, Cabin Electronics, Customer Services, Cabin Program, Marketing, IM, etc.
Your Boarding Pass:

University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar.

At least 3 years of experience in Agile (Scaled Agile Framework) software development, with at least 2 in the roles of product owner, product manager, or release train engineer.

Proven experience in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Virtual Machines).

Proven experience with Jira and Confluence tools.

Understanding of networking, security, and web-technologies.

Knowledge of the DO-178C/ED-12C lifecycle is a plus.

Experience applying Design Thinking and UX methodologies is a plus.

Direct experience working in commercial aviation SW products like IFE is a plus.

Innovative mindset, with a strong interest in continuously learning and driving new technologies & products.

Ability to work with people at all levels in an organization.

Team player with excellent communication and presentation skills.

Negotiation level of English; additional languages are appreciated.
This job will require sporadic trips to other Airbus sites, customers and business partners worldwide.
